Features

Some buildings just have soul, and this is one of them. Back in 1921 this concrete monolith was built as a showcase for Don Lee Cadillac. Converted in 1998 to 53 Soho-style, open loft spaces, The Marquee, as it is known, is one of the most admired buildings of its kind in San Francisco. High up on the seventh floor, Residence 706 is a premium corner with 9 French-paned warehouse windows that highlight stunning views of City Hall, Sutro Tower and Cathedral Hill.  Open and airy, this striking space is further enhanced by unusually high concrete ceilings, pillars and accent walls. Perfect home for the discerning buyer who craves a home as distinctive as they are.

The Marquee has keyed elevator security, a fitness room and a common rooftop terrace. Sharing structural space with 1000 Van Ness, residents also have access to the fitness center StudioMix, an AMC Movie Theater and Public Garage Parking.

Neighborhood

Van Ness

Several of the City's major cultural and governmental buildings are located in the Van Ness/Civic Center neighborhood, along with the Civic Center Plaza and United Nations Plaza. The United Nations Charter was signed in the Herbst Theatre in 1945, and in 1987 the theater was declared a national historic landmark. Other buildings of note include City Hall, the Supreme Court of California, War Memorial Opera House, Davies Symphony Hall and the Art Institute of California. The area is brimming with history. The Van Ness Corridor (also known as Highway 101) is a veritable smorgasbord of wining and dining, retail, hotel and cultural opportunities. While the neighborhood is mostly commercial, residential properties can be found in high-rise condos, apartments, and even a few single-family homes amidst the low-rise commercial edifices. It is the epicenter for culture and the arts.
